kuchanua (to blossom in Swahili) is an association dedicated to fostering arts and culture for collective and transformative action. The objective is to disrupt, decenter, and deconstruct notions of progress and modernity, challenging the sites of periphery and center. Through innovative and thought-provoking dialogue and experimentation, kuchanua contributes to larger decentered conversations on digital transformation, futurisms and building common understanding for a world in flux. In an interconnected world, we believe that innovators and knowledge holders from Africa provide answers to some of our most pressing questions and shape pathways into new futures. Arts and culture are vital mediums to translate research, science and theoretical solutions into shared understandings and values which transcend boundaries and foster collective action.
